ExPix have now managed to acquire a brand new industrial grade gazebo from Canopies South West. The acquisition will now be used at as many events as possible as a media base / centre for ourselves or clients. The 'gazebo' is a very high quality with an oversize hexagonal frame so it should be able to cope with most circumstances ... barring a hurricane which will be quite useful seeing as we do alot of extreme sports events. We ordered the gazebo on a Monday and by Thursday we had everything in place, printed and delivered ready for use at the first event. Great service from Canopies South West.
The canvas is also really good, thick and it looks rubber coated on the inside so the rain wont be able to come through. Along with detachable walls, windows on two sides and some awesome printing on the black canvas it looks pretty impressive, and stands out a mile in the crowds as well as allowing us to project during the day!! Already we have noticed a massive increase in peoples awareness to what we are doing and the ability to project images from the event at the event has created quite a stir at several locations already.
The 'media office' has already been used at 2 major events and 2 smaller event already this year, Night Jump was the first event at Liquid leisure where we did a 'test run' to see how it worked and what equipment we needed to make things run smoothly whilst creating a visual impact. The effect was immediate with several event organisers and riders coming along to chat about future events and athlete programs.
This was extended to Animal Windfest where with more staff on the ground we were moved to the main concourse right next to the animal bike tour show which had the largest crowds of the weekend. This was a massive boost for the ExPix team as we created quite a stir with images being updated hourly, and goodie bag giveaways also on the hour the event spectators kept coming back for more. This was also good for our suppliers as their contact no was taken by a couple of people who were interested in the gazebo and its quality.
The third event was Love Jam which was also at Liquid Leisure, this was more of a riders meet but with the biggest no of competitors taking part at a Wakeboarding event this year it was a good one to be at. Again the response was immediate.
The tent has also been to the SKA Slider Jam down at Par Sands in Cornwall. It was only used as a base due to conditions and the fact that the tide was out for most of the day it still provided us with a presence on the beach.
Lately we have been to another couple of events at Liquid Leisure Wake Park for a large student event and also the 'Love Jam'. We have added to our onsite kit by using an LCD screen which is far better to view the images in bright sunlight. Later in 2011 we hope to have some comfy seating which will add to the ambience, and allow people to come and relax whilst viewing images and videos in our tent!
