ExPix are always in the thick of the action, so getting our hands on anything that makes our job easier, whether it’s the latest kit or time saving gadget is something to shout about. We don’t provide bog standard product reviews. This section is an honest endorsement of the gear and brands that the ExPix crew have used and which we’d highly recommend. Each item is tried and tested first hand by our team; if we don’t like it we won’t bother sharing it! Check out our Van Life and Photo Blog sections for more products.

White DJ headphones from Kitsound

So just before Christmas we received a parcel for reviewing.

Opening the package we immediately saw a set of DJ headphones from KitSound; great for putting in someone's stocking over the festive period!

The white limited edition KitSound DJ headphone model looked good and felt well built. Quite a chunky design and definitely more practical than designer, but they still look good. Best of all they were comfortable to wear which our tester found surprising as he normally wears earphones rather than headphones due to the cumbersome and often irritating nature. These felt good on the head and the swivel aspects to the arms and to the speaker pad made for a good fit.

Kitsound DJ Headphones

Great value headphones They have a folding function which sees the ear pads fold along the headband making them more portable than some other brands. There is also a 1/4 inch jack which unscrews to reveal a second smaller 3.5mm jack which is useful for home and iPod /mp3 player use.

side view of kitesound headphonesSound wise the base was pretty good, giving a well-rounded sound; much better than some of the ear bud type headphones. This makes the sound more immersive for home listening. They block the surround sound very well too, getting rid of distracting ambient noise. We're not sure how they would cope with club surroundings but we're going to let one of our DJ friends try them out next time we're out and about.
